Getting to Know Ludmila Roze:

Ludmila is involved in investigating the variability of the wheat responses to Fusarium graminearum infection, including understanding the mechanisms of resistance in wheat. Also, she is spearheading a project that aims at generating a chemical library of natural bioactive compounds with specific activities toward fungal growth, development, and mycotoxin biosynthesis. They will use different tools and strategies for characterizing these compounds and test their activities. The resulting bioactive compounds will provide the basis for development of novel technologies for medicine and agriculture by modulating fungal growth and pathogenicity. Development in filamentous fungi and host-pathogen interactions using genetics, genomics and physiological approaches.
