Getting to Know Ben:

Dr. Jiang received his Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico, where he studied microbial ecology in extreme environments. He is working as a research associate in Dr. Trail and Dr. Bonito’s labs. He is generally interested in studying microbial diversity and functions in different environments. Ben is currently working on a USDA-funded project at Kellogg Biological Station. The major goal of this project is to characterize leaf, stem, root, and soil microbiomes of three U.S. common crops (wheat, corn, and soybeans) and generate a long-term longitudinal dataset on bacterial and fungal communities.
