Getting to Know Rebecca Shay:

Rebecca received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in Plant Pathology. While there, she worked with virulence of Pectobacterium carotovorum on potatoes, and the genes important for the virulence of the bacterium. In the Trail lab, Rebecca is working with the plant pathogenic fungus Fusarium graminearum, and the disease resistance response seen in barley trichomes. Overall, she is interested in molecular plant-microbe interactions, especially disease-related interactions.
